Reliable Days: Training May 17 and 18, 2014.
Weekend breaks-- May 24, 2014 via June 22, 2014.
Daily [Other than Mondays]-- June 24, 2014 with August 31, 2014.
(possible for some Monday hours and also added weekend break hrs after September 1).

Condition: Hourly, Temporary.
All shifts include weekend hrs.
Minimum of 15 hours/week dedication, with possible for added hrs.

OPERATING HRS for Tree Cover Pathway.
Spring season (May 24, 2014 through June 22, 2014): Sunday, 10:30-- 4:30; Sunday, 12:30-- 4:30.
Summertime (June 24, 2014 through August 31, 2014): Tuesday - Saturday, 10:30-- 4:30;.
Sunday, 12:30-- 4:30.

Position Summary:.
The EcoTarium, A Gallery of Science & Attributes in Worcester, Massachusetts, seeks undergraduate and/or graduate students to provide and promote programs for the general public. The museum utilizes hands-on and inquiry-based methods of teaching, which urge expedition, self-directed knowing, and stewardship of the natural surroundings. Setting concentrates on a the natural world, with key responsibility for directing tours on a plant canopy pathway device put on hold about 40 feet above the ground. The pathway program features yet is not restricted to: preparing readers for a travel into the plants, providing support while discussing the ecology of forests typically and the Eastern Longhorned Beetle in specific, then assisting in site visitors' descent back to the ground via zipline. The position is physically requiring and requires operating in all weather disorders. The TCW Associate collaborates with a team to provide a good visitor experience. Effective prospects will certainly possess a keen interest in science, solid presentation/teaching skills and take pleasure in dealing with children and families.

Credentials:.
Interest in, and understanding of, natural, bodily, and person science.
Experience teaching and collaborating with grownups and youngsters, consisting of those from diverse racial/socioeconomic populations.
Should be comfortable with public talking and have a style for public discussion.
Must be comfortable with elevations; wall surface or stone climbing encounter desired, yet not essential.
Have to be in good physical disorder and demonstrate ability to meet the bodily demands of operating our plant canopy pathway, featuring the lowering of a normal adult to the ground and navigating put on hold walkways using a harness.
Function well in a higher volume revitalizing and sensory story atmosphere, continuously interacting with guests.

Must be an undergraduate or grad student.

Need to pass a CORI ambient check according to EcoTarium guidelines.
Other practical encounter includes background in movie theater, ecology, and biology.

Responsibilities:.
Supply an extraordinary visitor encounter through programs and casual call with the general public.
Lead public tree canopy walkway programs-- outdoors, in all climate.
Help with the exploration of and discovering about science subjects.
Set-up and maintain industry equipment, program products, technological devices, and materials.

Should be able to work out weekday and weekend hours.
