terry Domestic Shorthair Young Female in Worcester, Massachusetts

My story
Chris and Terry are not cuddly kittens right now but are very sweet. They do notask for attention when they are playing but do love to play with wand toys withyou. They race around the house playing in different rooms and getting intotrouble. They were extremely scared when they went into foster care, but havemade great progress. They are still shy.It is important to keep them in one room until they have adjusted. If put them in alarger area with many hiding places, they will find them and not want to getcaught. They will sometimes run away from you when you approach them. Theyhave been living with a very nurturing senior male cat who they love, and onevery grumpy senior female cat that lets them know clearly "Get away from me!"When you go to pet them, they do act fearful at first but then most of the time, they realize it is a good thing.Chris (no shave) seems to be the meekest and most timid but very sweet. She willcurl up in your lap if you put her there and has just started to get in your lap onher own. She is very afraid of a wand toy with ribbon streamers.Terry (right shave) took a longer time to adjust. She still doesn't like a lot ofphysical interaction but has gradually improved. Terry has become much moresocial at the end of foster care.Given time in their forever home, they will be wonderful companions. They canbe adopted singly or in a pair. Chris would benefit from another gentle older catas security or with Terry. They wouldn't do well in busy, noisy homes with littlechildren.
