Winnie Chihuahua Puppy Female in Worcester, Massachusetts

My story
Winnie is an adorable 11mo old chocolate chihuahua who is only about 6lbs. Winnie would officially like to apply to be your forever little spoon, and is taking resumes for her forever neck-scratcher. This girl is a pro cuddler who has never met a fluffy blanket she doesn't like, and can often be found trying to burrow in one, or in your sweatshirt to warm her tiny, chilly nose. Winnie is hoping to be the apple of her future parent’s eye, as she would do best in an adult-only home as the only pet or with an older, calmer cat or dog who has better things to do than worry about Winnie. Winnie is a bit of a scaredy dog, and when she gets scared, she she can get snappy, so she would love a home who can help her work through these fears. She is still learning about this “collar” business, that it’s not so scary to have a collar put on, and that no one is going hurt her by reaching into her crate or trying to pet her while she's with her favorite person, you! Winnie has been adjusting wonderfully to using a slip lead. Winnie LOVES a snack, and it's a wonder how quickly she warms up to a situation when suddenly chicken is involved. Winnie has been doing excellent at crate training, and happily goes into her crate during the day on her own when she needs some "Winnie time." She has been sleeping in her crate overnight without a peep, and without an accident. She loves to go on walks and smell all the smells and she enjoys being on her own four paws just as much as she likes to hitch a ride in your arms. She's working very hard at being potty trained, but appreciates a puppy pad for the times her teeny tiny body can't quite contain all the snacks her giant eyes thinks she can eat in time to go out. Winnie is fully vetted and healthy, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on all her vaccines and preventatives. She is currently being fostered in Brighton, and has proven to be quite comfortable even with the city noises all around her. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners.

Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.
If you have any questions or would like to adopt Winnie, please reach out to the adoption group directly. PetSmart Charities does not facilitate the adoption process. Thank you.
